Meet Mrs. Shepherd
Hi and welcome to my class WIKI! I am currently teaching 4th grade ELA/ Social Studies at Belle Chasse Primary. This is my 13th year teaching. I enjoy teaching children and my greatest satisfaction is seeing students succeed and watching them develop a passion for learning.
I have a wonderful and supportive family, who all live very close, so I feel very fortunate. I am married and have four sons. Patrick is nine years old, my twin boys are eight years old, and Jack is 2. We also have two family pets, a black cat named Luna and a dog named Norie.
I graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (1-8th) and then attended Southeastern Louisiana University where I received my ELL certification as well as my masters in Leadership and Technology.
Integrating technology within lessons is one of my passions. Technology integration is shown to deepen the understanding and learning process. In my classroom, students will participate in Mystery Skypes, compete in Kahoot quizzes, post their writing via our class blog, comment on other student blogs, and research topics.
My interests outside of school are spending time with my family, traveling, and reading.
